Year 4 of Sitio Baixadao.

This natural Brazil comes to us from Anthem Coffee Imports and Helisson Afonso da Silva of Sitio Baxaidao.

As is often the case Helisson Afonso da Silva comes from a long line of incredible coffee professionals. Coffees from his family farms have received incredibly high marks and recognition for years. Including being the highest ever scoring coffee in the Brazil Cup of excellence, winning it in 2015. Their coffees continue to shine and receive praise from throughout the coffee industry.

Unlike the majority of Brazilian coffees, Helisson’s coffees are hand picked, selecting only ripe cherries. Many coffees in Brazil are mechanically picked indiscriminate of ripeness. After harvest the coffees are patio dried, turned frequently. Once in parchment the coffee is delivered to COCARIVE for grading and preparation for export. COCARIVE has a number of certification and processes in place to help producers deliver top quality, while protecting the environment and ensuring the best labor practices.

Sitio Baxaido is located near the city of Cristina in the region of Mantiqueria de Minas. This region is known for an abundance of fresh spring water, fertile soil, and a mild climate.

Dry lemon acidity plays with brown sugar sweetness and a floral finish. The cup is balanced and rounded by tropical fruit sweetness. We find Mango, peach, and papaya.
