MEXICO - MAURINO QUINTAS
Origin: Mexico
Region: Santiago Atitlan
Producer: Maurino Quintas
Varietal: Typica, Bourbon,
Elevation: 1450
Process: Washed
Tasting Notes: Cherry, Dark Chocolate, Jasmine
Continued to be impressed with the subtle complexity of coffees from southern Mexico. This coffee from the Atitlan region is rich with nuance. Cherry and chocolate play with mild acidity and a floral quality that reminds us of jasmine.
"With notes of raspberry, dark cherry, and subtle florals, this lot is sophisticated yet approachable in the way that best exemplifies Oaxaca's coffees as a whole, and the Santiago Atitlan region in specific. Atitlan region is marked by dense forests and heavy mists. Found in the Sierra Mixe district of the Sierra Norte province, the coffees that come from here reflect communal hard work, great altitude, preserved local varieties, rich soil, and the slow maturation that the area’s cooling mists and strong shade cover offer." - Red Fox Coffee Merchants
