Umuko Coffee brings us Rwanda Gasharu Natural for year 3. A wonderfully sweet cup that reminds us of Strawberry, Rhubarb, and Shortcake. Umuko has a special connection with the Gasharu farm and processing facility.
Gahsaru employees 240-300 women annually and works with 1650 smallholder coffee producers.
Umuko Coffee and the Rusatira’s family has more than 40 years of coffee growing and processing experience within Rwanda. Their experiences lead them to found Umuko to better support coffee producers by providing them with a voice, transparency, and a larger share of the profits their coffees generate. Maintaining ownership within Rwanda is also a critical function of this group.
